I'll look around but a 4g63t swaped colt is not likely, mos def the owner would keep it after doing that swap.

Welcome to the forum(i just joined my Self like last week LOL)Bought my first turbo Colt in my life ever!,not even 2 weeks ago.

Ive done plenty Rwd sr20det's,4age's in to my toyotas, some fwd hondas for friends.
It shouldnt be that hard! we live and learn.

I know for sure i can swap the motor,I dont know about the ECU and wiring,if its all plug-and-play like all my other cars then....its just simply plug and play then, nothing more lol.

It's only plug & play if you have an original turbo car. If you have a base-model 1.5 car it's a lot more work. The swap is still really easy, but you have to get the proper mounts, axles, ECU, and wire harness.

doesnt someone make a plug and play ECU harness?

id figure the hardest part would be wiring ....

mechanical stuff is just bolt up only hard part would be mounts but someone already makes thoose dont they?

Just buy a complete swap,I sourced the motor only(450$ if your serious,i'll tell you where)BUT!...they only sell the motor only, its because at that spot, they expect you to have a turbo model, meaning you already have the axels, ecu, harness.etc blah blah blah..

Sweet! Hahah

How much is a base model 89 colt manual with 179000 in good body condition worth?

And about how much does it cost on average to do the swap after price of colt

Post subject:  Re: WTB 4g63 swapped colt

I really couldnt say how much its worth,A seller could price any price on there car these days.
its worth what its worth to the owner, and if the buyer is willing to spend whatever the seller is asking(how bad do you want it? :D )

On avarage,I have no clue for im new to the Game but im Saying... (from what ive found) 450$ for the 4g61T
Plus you'd have to buy Axels,Ecu,Harness,Maf?,Dont forgot about your intercooler set up,so maybe an extra 1500$ thats including labor, driving away happy.

wow i guess i really did get lucky finding my Turbo Colt for 1100 bucks, came with power windows and all,my a/c blows cold! lol,and guess where i found it at?!,Garden grove, thats not even to far from you bro!

Is it a 4spd or a 5spd manual? Probably not worth very much, definitely not over $1,000 by any stretch of the imagination.

If you do it yourself, and you know what you're doing, you could have it done extremely cheap. If you have someone else do it, it's quite a bit more. If you want a good recommendation on a shop PM me, I know some guys down in San Diego that have done a few of these swaps and they do very good work, but expect to pay for it. Also, if you're gonna go through the trouble to swap it, you may as well use a 4G63T, not a 4G61T. The 4G63T costs more but you will have a lot more power right off the bat.

Hmmm guess I could hold off and try and find a turbo colt. Who knows if ill find one but would be easier and cheaper in the long run.

How much would it cost in labor to do the swap.

Just trying to figure out the costs of both ends of it.
