I was wondering if anyone knows what 5 speed will bolt up to a 4g63 RWD. The 63 will be put into a super seven kit car. Thanks

there's starion and EX1800 and EX2000 lancer gearboxes that will bolt up to the SOHC 4G63. i think some of the early L200 gearboxes might have as well but i'm not completely sure. if you were going to use the DOHC engine (out of VR4's and maybe eclipses? we don't get them over here. evo engines are no good though because they don't have suitable mounting points as they mount from the gearbox) then later L200 gearboxes are the way to go, if you want something with better ratio's then all of the above mentioned gearbox internal's will go straight in to an L200 gearbox

L200 = ute or minitruck
not sure if you got the early lancers over there but doing a search on the net would find them easy enough
and i think starions were released under a different name in america but can't remember what

cheers
Matt

Shove the Starion/Starquest guts into a Mighty Max Tranny shell.

mighty max??? if this is the small ute (minitruck) like the L200 i've got a mate over here in nz with an 84 model with a VR4 turbo motor in it and a fair bit of aftermarket work.

its run a 13.9 on 18's with not much traction. not bad for a daily driver

cheers
Matt

Yeah rxtoy!!! That's the one!!! There's a guy over here in the states.
On www.galantvr4.org, his name is... :twisted: "bimmubishi" He did a 4G63 swap into a 4 door BMW 325I !!! The Starion gearing is perfect, but the gearbox doesn't line up 100%. So what he did was he took the Starion internals and inserted them into the Mighty Max box. Both theose trannys are very similar on the inside/outside!!!!

keyword........ Dent sport garage
