im building a 2.4 6 bolt that i was going to put into my 91 awd until i ran across this little beauty. i bought it for $250 from the original owner today. it even runs. it needs a little body work and the drivers door aligned. im going to have to cut the firewall and tranny tunnel up but i will do it so it looks good when im done i promise  im using a th-350 for a tranny. buschur racing will be providing me with the adaptors and flexplate. im looking to make about 600 horses with this motor and get this car into the 9s. this is my first post here but i lurk here every so often as its sort of a dsm board. ive had 5 awd's over the last few years so this should be a fun experience.

Very nice find, that car looks sweet. I have been playing with these 1st gen cars since they were new. I am currently taking out the 2.6 from one of mine and installing a 6G72 into it. If I can assist you, let me know.

what years came with the 2.6? is that the precursor to the starion motor?

None of the Colts came with the 2.6, but the 2nd gen cars came with the 2litre in 75. these cars were 2" longer forwards of the front axles to provide the room. This was the chain drive 2.0, no relation to the 4G63. I did the 2.6 swap in the early 80s It was not a drop in.
I may do a 4g63 NA into my 71 in the spring.

Howdy,
I am not sure how to post pics here. I put a few onto my website but they are in the project tracking down on the lower left. Http://ffmsd.com The digital pics did not transfer well but I can get the older scans to go in.
Enter one of these, 71, 72 and you might be interested in the Evo driveline swap, 100. These are some older pics but still interesting, there are some more in the customer swaps section. [/url]
