I couldn't help but notice that while we have over a thousand members, many of them have not posted a single thing in six months or more. In all fairness, would it be possible to mark an account as 'dormant' after a certain amount of time without a login and have it removed shortly thereafter? It's one thing to not post, but to not even log in is a different matter.

Sounds like a good idea. i noticed the same thing as i occasionally run through the list to see where everyone is from and whatnot. Lots of people who have joined a year ago and never posted. I like the dormant/active idea if noones comfortable deleting old members who have passed on interest in the site.
Just my .02

i agree, but at the same time. if i came 6 months ago and registered, but say i couldn't get online too much or flat out forgot, and then got a colt later and decided to start posting, then my name is gone and someone else has it... i would be kinda pissed. not like i would hack the site over the deal or anything, but yeah. maybe if they don't respond to an email notice within 2 weeks min it would be cool. but that takes a little more overhead from the admin. probably more time that he has. i don't think its hurting anyone. and it takes up practically no space on the server to have them there. it also makes us look really busy :) just my opinion
