Well as some of you know, I'm the one who purchase the two Colts from ebay for $25. One is wrecked with a good motor, and the other is straight, but blown motor. For now I'm just going to do the obvious and swap the good with the bad, but what about the long term? So far I'm leaning to 4G63 NT and going high compression. Possibly AWD at some point. But for right now what do you think for just a motor swap?

Hey how would you go abouts turboing a 4g15? Would it be complicated and pricy?

Turboing a 4G15 is straight forward:

1. make a custom exh manifold
2. find some way to cool turbo (water lines from TB)
3. find some way to lubricate turbo (some line from the oil pump/filter?)
4. set boost. Use an electronic boost controller here.
5. install an intercooler
6. data/pocketlog and watch out for knock

mirageforums.net has some posts describing more details.

The priciest things are the turbo, EBC & intercooler. If you don't have access to a welder and can't fabricate your own tubes & stuff, this will add up, too.
