This is just a census to find out exactly what makes and how many of each are out there. For accuracy, this is for original 1989 Mirage/Colt Turbo's only. This is for the estimated 1600 cars imported to North America, and will include the Canadian cars as well. Thanks for your input.

If for some reason you don't know, look at the second letter in your VIN number.
B = Dodge
E = Mitsubishi
P = Plymouth

I wish we had a Vin sheet that listed all the C/M turbo's made and shipped to North America. That way I could say mine was 347/1567 or what ever the number would be.

I know for sure that mitsu has these records, but how easy they are to access and shuffle through I have no idea. I can say for sure that there is no individual numbering like the GVR-4's so no way to really determine what out of 1600 yours is. I do have to say I'm surprised that there are so many Plymouth Colts making up the Chrysler side.

yeah that stuff would be good to know, my car came with oe owners manual and all paperwork including the bill of sale and some emissions paper. they are dated 8/31/89, so it was sold late in the year. Anyway i couldn't find anything that said what number it was like most limited production cars have.

I don't believe this! No one has a Dodge?
Driving around I see at least 10 Dodge Colts for every Plymouth Colt... I can't believe the GT Turbos are any different.

(Note: As it stands when I write this - Mitsu 7, Plymouth 7, Dodge 0)

No kidding. Just until the other day when jmauld and I were comparing VIN's, he didn't even know there was a Plymouth version of the turbo. That's what prompted this thread.

Should I work on a database tracking system for the VIN's of our cars? If so, start proposing some things that should be tracked. If anyone can find any information from Mitsu, that would be great! I've tried contacting Mitsu of America a bunch of times with no replies what so ever.

Mirage for me.
I was going to add that i have a friend that has an original dodge colt turbo, but he rarely get to this board.
He is a service writer at the local mitsubishi dealer though, I'll ask him if he can get a list of VINs...

I tried to fix it, but it says the email has already been registered to a user or something along those lines... It has one extra l on the end...
