Jason, I think a tracking system would be really cool. all you would probably need is a list of all C/M's produced with the Z engine code then the last six of the vin to identify the order they were produced.

Should I work on a database tracking system for the VIN's of our cars? If so, start proposing some things that should be tracked. If anyone can find any information from Mitsu, that would be great! I've tried contacting Mitsu of America a bunch of times with no replies what so ever.
What sort of info do you need? I can call/email my buddy at corporate. Plus If I have to, it's close enough that I could go over and access their archives personally. Plus I can check out all the toys they have there for development. I'd be sure to take spy photo's of course.

Wow, 27 true original turbo cars so far. I didn't even think we had that many on the board.

The obvious info to get would be how many were sold in N.A.

Then, maybe get a correlation between VIN and builddate.

I can put a database together and let each of us put the info in ourselves, but that's not going to include the hundreds of cars that are in Junkyards at the moment.

Well, if you're at a junkyard and see one, just write down the VIN and enter it. There should be a status and location of each car. I'll email my buddy tonight and see if he can help at all.

Okay, I put a registry page up. (Link is at top)

Currently the page will only show the VIN for hopefully the turbo models. There's no error checking at the moment, so be sure that your VIN is correct.

You should have included an option for OTHER - I can't view the results of the poll without screwing it up for you!

BTW - If you think your petrol prices are high - we're on 77.9p a litre - that's $5.71 a gallon.

Once I get the bugs worked out of the "turbo model" registry, I will make one for the other cars.

Jason, just wondering for the registry how about an option of a C50 turbo - 4G63t swap. so we can see how many original turbo's have been converted as well.

On a side note what happened on getting people to put in their location as opppsed to some comment on the location of the earth.

I've tried to monitor the location thing, but it started to get overwhelming and made me lose interest in the site.

I added the model you suggested.

Quick thought, what I would really like to do is just have people enter their VIN and if you have swapped engines or not. Then the software could decode which model you have.

What does a VIN look like in other countries? I have a feeling that the North American VIN is not going to be compatible with the VIN in other places...

A VIN number should be the same no matter where in the world the car is, and it should decode the same way too.
