I was looking for a donor car for my c10, instead i came across my old c50 for sale and sitting in a field.
Its sad to see , so i rescued it. Its back in my driveway after 7 yrs.
I am not thrilled as its setting me back from focusing on my c10.
Its been ten years now since the c10 was parked. Time to use it or lose it.
I will be around possibly looking for parts and tips on how to reassemble the c50.
Posting pics up soon.

Thats why i brought it back. The rockers need some tlc with new metal, but its really good for rust consider the age and having 275k km on the clock.
I sold it 7 years ago with about 250k km. Its been abused and neglected.

Haven't been on in Y E A R S so I don't know if that's it but, link doesn't show any big C-50..?

I have a '64 C-50 that I'm 'hot rodding' into my blasting truck (started a blasting business using a Dustlessblasting setup)

It's slated for a Caddy 500/ Nv4500 and Dana80 rear w/5.13 gears. Should be fun.
Pm me if you need any parts from the US south. (under Memphis) I know where a few are, and Work for Fedex now so shipping might be cheaper.

For good info Register with Stovebolt.com BUNCH of great guys that are TONS more knowledgeable than I.

P.S. I found a '01 Chevy HD3500 dually that I got both front solid and rear Dana 80 axles from and the rear pretty much dropped on the stock spring packs. (just had to push inward about 3/16" each side.
Look into getting a Hydroboost from a Astro-Van, so you can have 4w discs..

Some updated pics. Engine in place, engine bay cleaned up. Almost ready to try starting it.
Still needs the rear brakes installed. Then if it starts it still needs alot of attention to detail, properly fastening rad and new rad fan, wiring needs to be clipped and supported, windshield washer reservoir location, coolant reservoir location, Then interior needs to be ripped out and cleaned.

All the while, my sedan awaits the swap. Once i get this white hatch running, the swap will begin in the sedan.

It didnt start! It clicks, but doesnt even turn over, maybe its the wrong starter. I have to swap it out with another one I have. AND.. it started pissing fuel at the gas tank area. Now i get to remove the tank and see what the previous monkeys did with that part of the car.
I am NOT impressed. BUT I am also not surprised.
I received the wrong slave cylinder from Rock auto, so I also had to wait for the right part to come in.
This project seems to be a piecemeal type.

Check the rubber hose right in front of the tank as it changes over to the body lines. Weak link, and always very hard to separate even with very good wrenches and penetrating fluid ....
Then work your way back up onto the tank. On the top are of the tank is where I worry the most.

Pull the starter and bench test it. All standard shift starters from this era are the same, it was simply the plate between the trans and engine that clocked them/pulled in or out/ to get them inline with the flywheel. Automatics had different starters, so don't ever use one of them. If it bench tests fine, you may be missing a ground up near the battery/frame area. I did that by accident and had a clicky starter, and weird issues in the car as it tried to pull power and ground from the wrong areas. Lots of weird buzzer issues at the exact same time. If it is just the starter, pull it apart and make sure the brushes are clean and move in their slot holders. I hosed my starter (the one previous to the last) and didn't dry it out as I was washing the engine bay during a head removal/rebuild. It seized up good.

Its a brand new starter from rock auto. I am going to bench test it anyway.
As for the tank, i am ready to pull it out and get it sent to be refinished locally.

You need also to press the clutch pedal (clutch switch safety function) on original turbo model. I had also forgotten this thing after six years ;)
Maybe it's your issue for not starting ?
Bad ground is also a good idea like Tim says ...
