Some people have SO much Mitsu pride that they are willing to drive a POS like this every day. That's pretty much what I'm gathering from this discussion...

You're right Tony, that's basically what it boils down to. If I were in the market for a cheap hatch I'd pick up a new Mirage even though IMO the Fiesta, Accent & Rio 5 look way better. Sounds crazy I know but just being honest.

I'd rock it not out of brand loyalty, but out of brand familiarity and the need of extreme fuel economy without crazy future technology. If anyone else would offer the same sort of car, that was just as basic and simple, I'd add it to the list. My province may be implementing a $0.10/liter ($0.40/gal) tax on gas in the new year, so there's no way I want to own anything that doesn't get 45+mpg. Hybrids are useless to me because I drive only highway, and electric cars don't have the range yet.

You are crazy. The Fiesta ST is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better!!! It probably doesn't even get that much worse of gas mileage either.

I was talking cheap hatches, I'd take the Fiesta ST over the Mirage any day. I'd never pay $20K + for a Ford though.

Newer Fords are seriously nice. Nicer than anything Mitsu has come out with in the last 20 years, if ever. If I had the money, they would get it hands down. I seriously want a 2015 Mustang. I'd also take a Focus ST in a heartbeat.

DSM/CSM owners are dead to everyone. That's beside the point

The only reason I would get this is 1- its cheap 2- gets great mpg 3- no crazy tech to go wrong 8 yrs down the road

the fiesta and the focus cant even come close to those price ranges with that kind of mpg.
I would love to be handed one of the ST models, but lets be real, that's not going to happen.
In reality I'm stuck with what I have for another 5 years, and a colt is one of those, so its not all bad!

The less I spend on gas, means I get more to spend on my toys ;).

...Oh, it gets good gas mileage, let it be ugly as fruit and banana, people will buy it...
