Soo I love history, IV lived close to this area for about 20 yrs +/- I'm 28 now , carpentersville Ill. 40 min from Chicago if that. My wife and I bought our house here.. anyways IV always seen this silo and parking lot off the main rode just figured was nature thing. Today I talked her into going there with our son and walk it. I come to find out it was a big race track... meadowdale international raceway..most the track was there..natures taken alot back so after we got home I wanted to look into it since I love history.. come to find out was races from 1957-1969.. 3/4 drag races, 3.27 track Indy cars etc etc. Wow the pictures I took and the pics of the original track and huge differences, the spots in the original pictures where i walked hard think it look soo much better and thrieved..130,000 attended first yr..crazy to think once was a big racetrack soo close...to bad its gone now...was cool to walk a piece of racing history...wonder if anyone on here remembers? Lol

I grew up in Arlington Heights, and never knew about that track either. A buddy of mine who still lives back there found out about it, and went into full-on geek mode...posted a lot of pics and found a lot of info about the track. Pretty neat for sure!
