If I put together a big brake kit that would work with the stock hubs, (you'd still have to have them pressed in and out) would you be interested? Well you "may" be able to replace the actual rotor surface with normal tools, but that hasn't been determined yet. The kit would most likely work with some 15" rims and would go from the original caliper (turbo or non turbo) to a dual piston caliper. I would use a caliper that would make getting performance pads fairly easy and much cheaper then having custom pads made each time. The rotors would be fairly expensive though. I'm just floating an idea around, and trying to gauge the interest. |

I'd be interested Jason, but more so if they didn't need to be pressed on and off. |

I dont have alot of money so now i'm just doing to get Xdrilled turbo disc's and vista caliper/brackets. But if i were to build an AutoX car i would drop close to 500CAD if the kit is really good and worth the cash! But i dont plan on it in the near future. Edit: didn;t realize 500USD is so much canadian lol |

Maybe there's a two piece rotor assembly that we could use in order to eliminate the reason we all hate to change our brakes. |

In terms of being hard on brakes, drag racing is a cake-walk compared to roadracing. You stop once from 100+mph every 15 minutes or how ever quickly you can make a run. The stock turbo brakes are actually great for that. In roadracing, you're using the brakes really hard at least 4 times each lap, for about 20 laps. They don't get much of a chance to cool down between brake zones. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't consider upgrading from the turbo brakes.

In between. I'm fairly sure what parts I would like to use. I just need to borrow them from my friend and take measurements. |

what about wheel spacers......like hers what i came up with.....have a wheel spacer that has the same hub as out rotors, pressed in with any type of lug pattern you want (i.e 4-lug, 5-lug) and with the calipers mounting hardware and brakes and stiff.......ill draw it out and take a pic |

seems like a lot of added weight and more points of failure. But is interesting. See if you can draw something out and scan it in. |

I would love it, of course for $100 but reality says aslong as it was below 1000 life would be good. My big concern is will it fit in 15" rims, I don't want (can't afford) new rims. So we talking replaceable rotors ( hat remains in place ) and new calipers that just bolt in place of the stock? hope this takes awhile to develop, I need the time to save up. |
