Check out Dsmecu.com. You'll get a side of the story. Looks like there was 'drama' between the owner and the hoster of the dsmap site. The site was taken down by the hoster and he created dsmecu. Dsmap was back up for a few days, but seems to be gone again. Seems like everyone is over at that new site again. But the focus there is on tunerPro not jackal. Crappy, I really like jackal and was looking forward to the next release. I'll see about tuner Pro when my car gets on the road again. |

like whats been said over on the dsmecu site jackle was just a gui for editing the ecu, that and it was technically hakcents property. but anything jackle could would do it will most likly get done faster now that there isnt a roadblock in the way. im just glad i didnt buy anything twords the end because it looks like no one is going to get their stuff that they paid for |

Dsmlink! Why even bother with this crap? My friend has this on his car.... Biggest pain in the ass to even get the program up and running with the million cords you need |

At the time dsmlink didn't support SD. So the choice was easy for me, plus the price was right (free)! It definitely has a learning curve and my car smoked at first too, but my cars is running awesome now! It runs great even in the cold northern winter. I think that it's a great product if you want to learn how to tune a dsm yourself. I'll probably look into the tunerpro solution soon, it support visual login. |

and that 300$ difference is well worth it. ds-map was a good product espically since it was free. but i have a feeling this new site will be making progress fast on giving you every option you will need |

I traded my ems for dsmlink. Aem is not user friendly at all.

its all about your learning style... me i would rather learn how to tune my car then pay somebody 300$ a pop for a tune. sure currently i wouldnt try and tune a 700 hp car but im still learning. |

I could replace the "tunning software" with anything and that statement could be true.i.e. a couple local dsmer has dsmap/ms/dsmlink/aem ems/.... they hated it. Its all a matter of wants/tastes/likes, non of these aforementioned products are perfect, some are more popular than others, some are easier to use for the laymen, some don't provide all the functionality that someone may need. This thread is about ds-map not existing anymore, which IMO sucks because its a a nice product and I know how to use it. So it doesnt matter because you can't get it anymore. Once dsmlink is gone we can go ahead and begin a thread about it and how much is sucked compared to tuning product 'xyz'. |
