Ok guys, i took my old colt's panel and washed it.

This thing is a one piece molded panel.

Paint is added in the back, chrome paint will give the lower strip and the letters.

Charcoal paint will give the letters background.

I made a test, scrubing with a fine scotch bright and acetone will remove the paint and the letters!

Now you can make yourself a template and spray paint the shape/letters with chrome paint and put charcoal paint on top!

Making a blank panel is the simpliest thing to do, just scrub the letters and put charcoal paint on top to finish.

I would suggest to polish with a metal polish before adding the paint since the scoth brite and acetone will have done a very good job at giving dull finish to your panel.

Note: I havent found yet the way to remove the black pitch that holds the bracket, this stuff is a PITA to remove.

Im happy now!
What should i put on there!
My nick, mitsu logo...??? what about one of each! :D

try using brake cleaner, comes in a spray can, dries fast so work fast, will eat anything petroleum based, including synthetics, and makes very fast work of any typr of that goop, if not try b-12 chemtool, in the short stumpy necked can, or b-12 carb cleaner, all will remove it, just not all will have the effectiveness yuo want
