Right now I'm working 6-7 days a week with 8-12 hour days. I live on a ship in the same bed as prisoners use. I haven't seen my family in over 2 weeks(they live in AZ, while I live on a ship in San Diego). I can't quit my job. I have 7 bosses. I got passed up for Christmas leave, And I have 6 more days till I can go home (for only 3 days). They want me to buy $400 of uniform items in 10 days. Quit-cha Bi-chin

Third shift life does suck for sure. I did that for about 2-3 years. That's for single people though. |

True that,def for single people,but I agree it gets old. You think,"Oh it's not gonna be so bad,I can get more stuff done." But in reality you end up never sleeping enough,never seeing or doing anything with friends...at least in my case $22.00 an hour would help though!

I'd love to find a job paying $22 an hour... No one around here wants to pay more then $12 for night shifts. |

I do tech support all day and come home to play video games. I wish I had a college degree so I could make more money. But cant afford to miss work to get one. |

Is third shift the same as graveyard/night shift? $22.40 an hour sounds awesome. That's $29.40 NZD. I work midnight to 6am, 5 days a week and get $23 an hour ($16.70 USD), and that's considered a pretty decent hourly rate here, with the minimum wage being $14 an hour ($10.60 USD). $22.00 an hour would help though!I quite like night shift. I've always been a night person anyway, even before I got this job I didn't usually sleep before 1-2am lol. Has it's perks, I love not having to sit in rush hour traffic everyday, I can get shit done during the day etc. Only thing I don't like is that I work Friday nights, my social life has gone down the toilet, and then half the time I wanna stay awake during the day on Saturday (especially in summer), which means i'm farked on Saturday night cause all I want to do is sleep. |
