the hardest thing to find, & most neccessary thing needed for a 4G63t swap in a 1.5 C/M/S is the motor mounts. with the abundance of 1.5 mounts, & 2.0 DSM mounts. IMO, if a willing company (DSS? RRE?) out there were to cut & weld these together using stock 1.6t mounts as a guideline & sold them between $200-$300. I think it would sell. not to mention we could then use the DSM Energy Suspension Poly-bushings on our cars. the only location where a 1.5 mount would need to used is the timing belt side because the DSM mount is to fat to fit the mount slot on the wall. maybe, one custom poly-bushing for that location could be made? finished off with a nice powder coat. how many here would buy a set if you needed it?

I think it would make everything simpler for sure. Around here, a guy just finished his swap using full Hyundai Elantra mounts though...might make finding the mounts easier if you are a junkyard diver like me :).

I'd probably buy an easy kit though.

all 4 worked without modification? if thats the case, then this would be the best thing to go with. :)

I believe so, it is a friend of my roomates...who also owns a junkyard (the same one I went to to grab all my recent treasures). He did it with no mods to the mounts at all supposedly. I am going to examine this more closely on the weekend and let the board know :).

There way too easy to make fit, took like 1.5 hrs. If you've done the swap you should be able to figure it out pretty easy. Although for the guys that don't like to build every thing it would be a good idea.

little confused. are you saying the 1.6n/t Mitsu/hyundai mounts have to be modded in some way to make em work? what exactly has to be built? :-?

well, I just came across this link & it states the Hyundai/Mitsu mounts [b:8meffdto]DOES[/b:8meffdto] work, with minor modification!
http://www.miragetuner.com/faq/4g63t.html

the thing is, the Hyundai Elantra came with the Mitsu 1.6 dohc16v & the Sonota came with the Mitsu 1.8 dohc16v. which mounts works better? are they the same? I don't know. worth looking into tho.

that can't go for the T-belt side mount, can it? cause correct me if I'm wrong, if memory serves the 1.6t & 1.5 mounts are totally different.

What the almighty Ricehunter is saying is true. The 1.5 mouts will work with some modifications. If you don't have a welder, You can't do it. I won't be giving out any secrets here, it's really easy. Take a look, and figure it out :-)

ahh, I got you. but you said the magic word. :D this sounds kinda like its leaning towards the amount of modding involved in my 1st idea tho. this way you can use the ST-DSM poly-bushes on at least three of em. man I gotta learn to weld. :?
