What do you mean by rules jason??
do you mean what we are allowed to do and what we are not.

I would say no swear and no intimidation, but thats evident.

I've got the word censor feature in use, so that certain words are replaced. If you see some words pop up, let me know. I'll add them.

I am getting the last few runs out of louie while the weather holds out.. I've taken him to work the past few days. :)

My sig says what I need. I don't actually have my grubby little hands on the o2 pipe or tranny yet, but they are (in theory) on the way. DSMRacer said he shipped the o2 pipe, but I haven't seen it yet. Texmirage is going to send me the tranny/FW/PP/Master+slave clutch cyl from that talon he is parting out. Of course that is after it stops raining and he removes it from the car :)

I just picked up the engine last weekend. It is hanging on the cherry picker right now in my garage. I need to get a slew of gaskets, nuts and bolts tho. For some reason, nobody gives you that stuff when you buy parts.

Speaking of parts, how hard is it to replace one of the studs that hold the exhaust manifold in? One of them is snapped off on the block I just picked up. It looks like he did that a while ago because there is just a trace of carbon showing that he was running it with that stud not there. Oh, and looking in the exhaust ports... my valves are white... bad? good? typical?

I'm thinking this weekend I'm going to yank the 4g15 and start work on the brake/PS lines. They are all crusty and scary. I'm just worried that once I start hacking away, I will be missing some major part that I can't find or afford. Then I will have a "dead" car in the garage. I've never done this kind of stuff before.

Oh, and I've decided that I'm not going to do the ballance shaft removal yet. I'm going to make sure I can get the engine IN and WORKING before I start hacking parts off of it :)

One thing that I have noticed quite often. Is a wanted to buy/sell post from someone who doesn't list thier location. It is usually followed by someone asking where are you located. I think the location portion of your profile should be mandatory. Haveing people post thier location could actually reduce bogus post's/fraud lieing ect. Greg

I agree. its would also be a convenient way to organize local meets. not everyone reads the forum everyday.

You might wanna remove the balance shafts NOW......
It's a terrible PIA to do it AFTER you have the motor in the car.....

I would HOPE that you were planning on installing a timing belt before
you install the motor, becuase if that's the case, do the balance shafts now or you'll have to do everything over again.

It all comes down to money, and my lack of it. I also don't have a ton of time. Sucks pretty bad.

I would like to do the shafts, I know I should do the belt, I would like to upgrade the brakes, .... The list just goes on and on. I need to draw the line somewhere, I'm just not sure where.

Anyone wanna drive out here and help me some weekend? I'm sure I can knock off a huge chunk of this project if I had some help. :)
