It means you have 1 of ~1500 Colt/Mirage turbo's with the C53a chassis setup, made for 1989 model year and sent here to North America.

I now need a full registry entry because you've all but spilled the beans!

Crusherbait and Roy have been added to the Registry listings now!
Thanks for the unsolicited updates guys, it makes my day a whole lot easier. Nice to have some entries to add just out of the blue!

I recently checked and didn't see my car up there. I'm pretty sure I posted the VIN and all that good stuff.

Yes, the entry is there. So, I have to apologize that I didn't post something about it earlier, as I did cross reference and make changes to the name of ownership. It's a good thing I didn't have to track mitsuman's latest car sale (now that's a history worth tracking! 8) )

Some of the changes won't show up until I update the main listings in photograph/screen shot form and repost the new pics. I've added a couple more to the listings. but I hope I've made a reference to that fact here in this thread. I've received alot of unsolicited VIN Registry entries lately, so for that we can all be thankful. It makes my day easier to not have to be quite so vigilant, and makes me smile when my inbox says. "VIN Registry entry for you - From So and So".

I was checking out the list a week or two ago. I noticed I did not have my colt on there.

Build date- Dec 1988
VIN- JP3CU54Z6KU097837
C53AMNPTL2D
4G61
KM210
R52 04A E59

Any code like this on the firewall tag?

MNPTL2D

And two last questions - Federal or California, Build date code other than the 1988 December (should be a 1,2, or 3) on the driver door jamb plate.
I so rarely get that last part from Dodge and Plymouth entries that I almost wonder if they have them.

I just looked over the listing and realised that not 1 entry from Dodge and Plymouth has a 1, 2 or 3 listed with the build tags, and my car is included in this respect. Maybe they don't get this coding feature for whatever reason. Newly discovered fact #1.

I had to look three times. I thought it was me, but my car does not have a 1,2 or three on the jam. But the above number you need off the firewall plate is listed in there. Third line down.

I'm a putz, I've cut off the C53A portions in the listing, and was looking for a shortened version.
Editted your entry.

I think it's safe to say that Dodge and Plymouth have no date code entries; 1,2, or 3 next to the build date ie. June 1988
