this car is completely stock until this weekend

I know someone who owns two, hopefully I'll be buying one from him within the year, but we'll see. one is a 1989 mirage turbo, red in color, mtx if im not mistaken, while the other is a 1989 colt gt, grey in color. The grey one has 267k miles and Im going to buy it. Its still got a 1.6, but who knows if its been rebuilt or not. The owner bought it 5 years ago, drove it 300 miles home, parked it, and the car hasn't moved since. I have no big plans for the car until after I graduate from college, so at least 4 years. I've also got a dsm to focus on, so it won't be receiving many funds other than possibly a 2.0 fwd tranny just for better mpgs, and less torque to the ground (wheel spin)

Theres another rather mint colt in town, I'm not sure if its an original turbo, but t has a 2.0 now and its a 3 door hatch back or whatever. Im a csm newb, so forgive me if anything seems "stupid" or anything. Any questions and I'll find out next chance I get, as I said they aren't mine, they are a buddies car. he could have possibly already registered them here too.
