| Post subject: | I think its time |
I've been tired of owning a slowass Honda for...well...the entire time I've had it. I think its time for something else. I've been throwing around the idea of a colt for months, and now I think I'm just gonna do it. I've got a couple minor issues to take care of on the Honda, and then its time to start looking for a parts car and Colt shell. Wish me luck fellas, I'm gonna need it. Basically what I'm thinking for right now is a colt hatch, do the normal 6bolt swap, throw on a 16g and supporting mods, and enjoy my highway monster. Any hints, suggestions, etc before I embark on this journey? |

heh, i like how this has become an everyday type of thing, lol!only tips i can give you is double check you have all the parts you need before you start, makes things a lot easier instead of "oh yeah, i'm gonna need one of those too" i was kinda forced into the swap (bad rear main seal on the 1.5) so i only had prolly 60-70% of the parts i needed therefore i'm STILL working on it since march |

my suggestion is to try to do it right the first time. meaning replace all the fluids, flush, change all seals, replace all gaskets, and take your time |

I agree, do a balance shaft elimination at the same time. It is soooooooo much easier to pull the front cover and BS with the motor out of the car.

I'll most likely get a parts car, strip it out, and build from there. Anything that breaks or is missing from that point on won't be hard to find, I live 45 mins from KOU Motorsports and they probably have a dozen of any part I would ever need. This is most likely going to be a winter project for me, seeing as I've never really done anything like this before. I fully intend for this to sit around, incomplete, for some time. I'm ok with that, seeing as I work 60+ hours a week anyways. To be honest, half of the desire to build it is just an excuse to give me something to do during my time away from work and give me an incentive to hang out with the car guys again. |

well shit, I think this plan is out. I have an oppurtunity to pick up a clean 97 Integra GSR with a Tanabe racing medallion exhaust, type r wing, carbon fiber hood, halfway decent looking body kit, Tenzo 17's, plus all stock parts for CHEAP. I think I'm gonna jump on that instead, its way too cheap not to. |

I'd get a bigger turbo. 250 whp is cool but 400 whp is even cooler |

it has all the stock shit. All the stock stuff is on it right now. I live in Illinois dude, he takes the bodykit/wheels/hood etc off in the winter, so its literally an hour job to transform the entire thing.Like I said it my original post, it has everything OEM as well as the aftermarket parts. And screw turboing it. For the money I spent turboing my DD, I could just buy an AWD DSM. |

exactly. I'm buying it from a buddy who bought a new Nissan from me (I saved him thousands) a week or so ago, and he needs it out of his name asap because it won't pass Chicago emissions.
