day 2. motor is out. its a 6-bolt, and sporting a NEW clutch.

Dumb quesion but why did you take the head and tranny off prior to taking out the motor?
It seems like allot of work wrenching all that crap off in confine space....

it wasnt so bad. i just unbolted the tranny and pulled it apart as i raised the motor. i wanted the block as light as possible since we had to move it into the car after we pulled it. basically, from the hoist to the trunk of the mirage ;)

If you were using an engine hoist, it doesnt matter how heavy the motor is. Well since you have the head off, you might want to just have it decked and replace the valve seals. Replace the cam seals too

its not even my garage! she helped out some though ;)

im doing 2.4L pistons, BS removal kit, upgraded valvetrain, etc etc... my goal is 225whp :) no matter what it costs all motor.

how's that rust? do you need a tetanus shop yet?

i hated living up north, if nothing else, it was th rust that made me run scampering back to texas....

the rust sucks, but it will all be gone when the shop builds the block for me.

got the wiring i needed out finally, and everything form the car i wanted. goes to the junkyard monday. :drinkers:
