The company that builds "Radical" racing cars in England have built a V8 out of two Suzuki motorcycle engines. They claim 380 BHP at 10,000 RPM and almost 200 lb-ft of torque from 5000 to redline - from naturally aspirated 2.6L!

It's tiny! They say it weighs under 100kg (220 lbs), fully dressed, which is a lot lighter than your average iron-block four-banger.

Here's the story. Be sure to read through all the updates.

I can think of a few uses for this thing. Like a Lotus 7 clone. Or maybe that Corolla sitting in my garage.

Dave Coleman just wrote about that in the current Sport Compact Car, its two hyabusa (sp) heads, one turned backwardsto get all the intakes in the center, mounted to a custom block.

heh, if you're gonna go v8, make sure that it hits 10,000 rpm and can fit in a 2 ft square box. :o

hehehe  i'm thinkin' that would be able to fit in the colt no problem, just fab up some mounts and find a tranny that would work and you're good to go

and yes, since i know SOMEONE is going to nit-pick here, there would be a LOT more work involved... sheesh!
