My Red summit is and has been in almost mint condition since I purchased it about 1.5 years ago(59000 miles). It now has close to 75000 miles but I keep it clean. One day(literally overnight) the roof went from clean, smooth and glossy to rust bubbles and small amounts of rust everywhere. Is this common and or is it a factory defect? How can I stop it? I've looked over my car and am not sure where the factory paint color number is located if I go to repaint it either. Any help?

Hi
i had the same problem before. According to some body shop guys, its because of the adhesive used in the roof. Even if you sand it down and respray it, the same thing will reappear in about 9 months time. (Tropic Weather) Terminal solution i adopted was to change the whole roof panel. But remember to remove all traces of the original adhesive and use one that is non corrosive. Good Luck. :)

i think what he heans is the hardened black goo that is used for glueing the barces to your roof.... but thats just me...

a good primer can do wonders for new paint as well... sorry to hear about it & good luck...
