As title says...was the 89 turbo with the 4g61t produced in Europe ?

Any responses are appreciated.

As far as i know, we got only Colts equipped with 4G13, 4G15 and 4G37 (or was that actually 4G67?). No 4G61.

4G13 came with Colt GL, 4G15 with Colt GLX (GLXi with 12v EFI) and there was 1.8 GTI, either 4G37 or 4G67..

Actually, that's not completely true. Neither is mine about 1.8 GTi.

I browsed through my Mitsu Owner's Manual and i found that 1.8 GTi was equipped with 4G67, but 1.8 GLXi AWD came with 4G37. Also, there was 1.8 GLXi with 4D65.

The C50 style Colts came w/ the following engines equipped:

4G13 1.3l 75 hp
4G15 1.4l 90 hp
4D65 1.8l 60 hp Diesel
4G61 1.6l non-turbo 124 hp (Colt GTi from September 88 to February 1990)
4G67 1.8l non turbo 136 hp (Colt GTi from March 90 to March 1992)

The Lancer came basically w/ the same engines, except there was never a Lancer GTi w/ the 4G61. Instead, it came w/ the 4G67. Also there is a Lancer AWD that is equipped w/ the 4G37.

In the end, there were three different 1.8l engines for European CSM.

How hard are these to find?

I should ask my uncle in Poland to check out some scrap yards for euro lights and white faced gauges.

there are one or two 4g61t's in europe to my knolage but they were strictly import only from japan.

ive also heard off a hand full off c58a's that had a 4g63 fitted by MMC just after they were produced and given to some mitsubishi UK employeys (presumable high up in the chain) as i saw one just the other weekend, and the guy had all the history and owners details from new, had a good look at the engine and it was diffrent from both 4g61 and 4g67 as ive owned both types??

Really? This would be cool! Gazzer reported he found on his Galant GTi engine (4G63 non-turbo) oil squirters, too. :D
