I think it could be a positive thing as well as a negative. As long as they give us the option of having it I dont really care, but if they force these things on every new car (I know it will take a while) then thats just redicilous. Personally I think it could be good if your son or daughter just started driving and you need to know how they are doing or where they are, but if insurance companies use this information for their benifit then they can lick my sack.

You have no driving infractions on your record, you have led a completely clean, sober life without mistakes, and therefore there is no reason whatsoever IF (when?) this becomes a truly Orwellian society you wouldn't be concerned if people were watching you.

I'm not denying there are some good aspects to come of it, but the fact remains that EDRs can, and therefore probably will, be used for malignant purposes disguised as something much more benign.

I also don't want to be figuratively hung for a collection of minor infractions because someone decides they don't like me. It's invasion of privacy and uncalled for. Homeland security, my 4ss.
