as for the wheel bering, have you EVER been to wyoming? i dont want to get stuck there.

becides is it a crime to try unorthodox things?no, im just rying to build a better mouse trap
No it's not a crime to try onorthodox things. It's different when it's something that's known to cause problems. There's a major difference between trying to build a better mouse trap, and reinventing the wheel. Why do you think the 4G63 is still around in pretty much the same form it was originally created in 16 years ago? Because it works and because it's hard to improve apon. In my opinion, even at your elevation, 9.5:1 compression on a turbo motor is asking for problems. Especially when I know you don't have the money to throw around for a rebuild in 30k miles. I'm just trying to look out for you, especially when you pull a stunt like this.

actually jason i have plenty of cash for mistakes and setbacks.
however i was planning on blowing up this engin before i drop the g63t in it.

as for how long it will last he just had a OLD customer call him to build another engine, the exact same one he built for him 4 years ago, so he can build ANOTHER CAR.

so you all (most) say it cant or wont work, but here it is that is does and can work!

Yeah, I had my wastegate line pop off once.

Train of thought:

Wow my car is fast today!

Hmm, something isn't right. ::look at boost gauge::

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! ::turn off car and coast to side of road::

This was on the 11b. The gauge only went to 15 so I have no idea what it was pushing (besides REALLY hot air)

Yeah the same problem happened to a friend of mine, it was fun to feel what 40psi was like on a 50 trim. Good thing he's got ARPs.

Okay Mr. Big Bucks. I never said it won't work, but I am saying it won't work for as long as it would being built the right way.

so then WHY has he built a 4g63t with over 90K on it now still run as well as it did from day 1? just a fluke? ok, so why has he NEVER had a engine come back?he knows what he's doing. he has been doing it for years.

we will see,

The bus ride out was horrendous. If you have to, take the train instead.

To answer your question: WyoTech.

1.get a 4g61NA
2.turbo it
3.dont hook up the wastegate(FULL BOOST)
4.rev it to 4k for 10seconds
5.drain oil
How would holding the car at 4k without load blow a headgasket? You wouldn't even build boost.
