it's funny seeing the different numbers between all the various sites covering the election

ex. cnn says

Bush 58,390,139 51% 254
Kerry 54,870,561 48% 252
Nader 390,628 1% 0

while cbsNEWS says

John KERRY 54,865,161 242
George BUSH 58,385,601 254
Ralph NADER 391,018 0

the difference between 242/252 for Kerry is a huge, something is wack. a typo maybe?

GOOOOOO CREDIBLE NEWS SOURCES! WOOO HOO!

yea think all you need is 270 votes to win, ok but if the other guy has more states that want him in office shouldent he get in?

yeah, but isn't the idea that a state which has 10m people in it should have more impact (weight) then a state which has 1m people in it.

so it wouldn't be fair to say that 'cause you have lets say 20 states with each 1m population to win against someone that won one state that has a population of 50m.

yeah, i think we should just get rid of the electoral college, and have every person's vote counted and not release ANY info on it until every last vote has been counted. give the states like a week or so to tally up all the votes and release them in some report. granted it's not as fun as watching states turn red and blue, but it helps to ensure that your vote does matter.

I agree with the popular vote being the deciding factor. Bush significantly won the popular vote by more than 3 million votes. The largest difference since his father won.
