I got an email from my machine shop saying my 4g64 Crate motor is ready for pickup.

4g64 DOHC .020 Over
Web Racing 274 Cams
10:1 Ross Racing Pistons
ARP Hardware
Adjustable Cam Gears.
Crower Valve Springs
1G Big Rods
All machined and ready to go.

I just have to mate it up to a tranny and it will be ready.

I'm looking at a either unit from levelten or IPT I have the rest of the car ready. Doesn't look like it will see the street before winter. But thats ok it will be totally worth it in the spring. Full specs of the car to be posted soon.

Unfortunatley yes.... still going with a slop box that was a part of the 'deal' I made wit the GF whatever I build she must be able to drive it (that means auto) and after looking it might be a good idea having auto because it has nice tall gears it will make me less prone to breaking stuff/limit wheel spin because its not like I can put an LSD in an auto although I'd really like to. Might be lots of fun who knows.

Sweeet!! I've been waiting to see how this thing works since you first mentioned it (last year?) Plan on putting it in b4 the snow or throughout the winter? It'd be nice to atleast drive it for a week so you have all winter to work the bugs out..

I assume its a street ride so can't suggest a welded diff in the auto box. I would highly suggest IPT for the the auto tranny they do an excellent job and the last one they put together for russ car has held up for quite a few power passes including the 9 sec passes. They continually R&D thier stuff--threw us--lol and really know what they are doing. They are going to put one together for me for next years car.

P.S. What auto box you planing on using DSM FWD Turbo or?

Definetly getting a better torque convertor. I'm using a F4A33 tranny. The Engine is a 63/64 Hybrid Bottom end from a 91 Sonata head from a 90 Talon. Barely anything stock anymore just crank, rods and valves the rest is aftermarket. Its an all motor configuration no boost hopoing for 180-190hp at the wheels and to be reliable enough to be my daily driver in the summer. The tranny will have a shift kit it will not pull third until you let off the throttle a bit let it shift and jump back on. It will also have the modded end clutches. The engine has been ported polished/ 5 angle valve job. 10:1 Ross pistons. The mod list on this car is seriously too long to list. Many hours of time and several thousands of dollars of money went into making this car. I may end up making another one when I'm done but it will just be a 4g63NA.

Why dont you go boost man?
You have a N/A car, build a boosted car.

Damn, could you imagine if you boosted the 64...you would full spool a 20G by 3,000...but you would need to drop the compression.

ahh 4g64. I once had one like that. just not dohc. They rule. But some enviorment geeks took it away because it was in a ugly car! :( It only needed an alternator and 2 spark plugs to run! So not fair.

Good luck!

3000K RPM? Try 1500 rpm

A 2.0 motor spools a 20G at 3k :P
