I currently have a 99 Pontiac Grand AM SE and i hate it. Why, well lets see there is no way to convert it to a manual and if I were to put power through the automatic it would blow at about 275 pounds of torque. I could put an ECOTEC in it with a manual but I also could have a different car for the same price.

So I thought to my self what should I get next. What I want is something that looks decent is AWD Turbo and is quite tunable. I would only have 3500 - 4000 to spend. You can poll for the cars I have chosen or post your suggestions.

I would say GVR-4, but I'm partial to sedans. An AWD DSM is usually less expensive. Legacy turbos are nice too, but not as easy to tune or find parts for. A 90-94 Impreza turbo doesn't exisit. The Impreza didn't come out till '93 I believe and didn't come turbo till the WRX. However, they're easy enough to turbo or just swap in an EJ20. In the 90-94 range though you can get either a GL or GL-10 turbo. 4x4 on the fly is a nice feature of those cars.

Well I got a VR4. I won it on Ebay. Its in Portland Oregon. The owner is 56 and has owned it from day one, and only has used mobil 1 from day one also. Some minor defects but nothin to bad. I bought it for 3800$ and im flying there this week and drivin back. Me and a buddy made this same treck in July when he bought a volvo 940 turbo from the same area.
