Got a late start because of the Oregon/Oklahoma game today but we did get a bit done. Bought a hole saw kit to make way for the clutch master cylinder and came back and got to work. Got the old clutch pedal assembly off and new one mocked up. Still need to get the hole saw and clear a path. While I was trying to screw that up Eric got almost all of the work done on cleaning up the VR4 front brake conversion pieces with brake cleaner and installing that with the new pads, Rotora slotted rotor and Techna-Fit stainless brake lines as well as the 1G Sportline/Koni yellow setup and Ingalls camber kit on the passenger side. I left my camera at home so this crappy camera phone picture of the only pretty part of what was accomplished will have to work! Week after next we'll be buttoning up the driver's side and towing it to Eric's shop so he can fabricate the IC piping, exhaust and 10-point cage. From there we'll just have to see :)

Finished up the rolling chassis yesterday. Galant VR4 front brake conversion complete with Rotora rotors, PBR pads and Techna-Fit lines. The 1G Sportlines aren't quite as low as I'd like and I'll need the adjustment of sleeves to accomodate my drag wheels/slicks and street wheel/tire package. Ignore the wheels/tires on there now, they are definitely very temporary and will be replaced this week with stock VR4 wheels. It was a rather proud moment setting the car on the ground after being in the air for 8 months :D It will be towed from Bryan's garage where it's stayed all this time sometime this week. From there we'll be fabbing up the IC piping, exhaust and cage. This thing is finally starting to come together!

Thanks guys! The Evo has been stealing some time lately for development of a twin Walbro system to handle its fueling needs but that should be done soon and I can refocus on the Colt. While some would likely tell me I'm crazy, I have so much more fun working on my blue POS :D Building this relatively low buck racecar that will likely eat my heavily modified Evo on the freeway is rather humorous irony!

The clutch pedal is a snap, just bolts right in place of the stock cable clutch pedal assembly. I still haven't used the holesaw for the actual cylinder to go through the firewall but I do have the holes drilled for the studs. I got the pieces from a hydraulic equipped Colt in the junkyard. You will need the shifter "arms" that are attached to the stock Colt transmission so don't throw away your stock tranny if you still have it. You'll need to remove the arms from the DSM transmission and replace them with the Colt arms or the shift cables will not reach. I'll get to the rest soon enough and will report back :)
