A couple people have highly reccomended this stuff to me. As always i am very dubious regarding manufacturers claims. Anyway, this additive claims to seal or fill the small scratches in cylinder walls that result in compression loss. It lasts about as long as a oil change ive noted. The stuff really does make a noticeable difference in compression. Ive always had one cylinder that was a little lower that the rest. Restore brought all cylinders up to 196 psi! It actually did what it claimed. My friend has used it for years reportedly with no problems. It contains microscopic particles of silver, copper, and lead. I'm betting these very soft metals are forced into the scratches like a spackling job on a wall. If you have a high mileage motor this gets my vote.
Sorry to sound like a advertisement for this product
Anyone have any experience with this product?

What is the exact product name, and what does it's flask/container/whatever look like?
Maybe it's available in Germany, too.

yeah I've used that "restore" stuff too. Its great. It softened the rings and allowed them to make a better seal again and it cleaned out my motor. I don't have the turbo engine but it still mad my car run better.

hey restore comes in a couple different size cans. they are determined by the size of the engine. it comes in 4, 6, and 8 cylinder quantities. the can is silver in color and had black and red writing. talking about 4g6xT cars, i was following an eclipse to the airport that think wasnt run right at all, there was even a fluid leak underneath that i could see from behind it. ANYWAYS...hope that description helps.

Restore DEFINITELY works.

My 91 TSi is just about to roll 170,000 miles, I've been using restore every OTHER oil change since 144K (when I bought it). Compression before was 110 across the board...after is between 140 - 148 (164 is factory spec).

My rings will be replaced in 2 weeks (along with bearings, seals, gaskets, belts...etc...) but in the meantime, Restore helps keep it running!

Hey, my emissions test is due soon... How long does this stuff take to start making a difference?

I noticed a difference immediately. Changed the oil, followed the directions on the can and the same day (I believe...may have been the next day) when I did a compression test, it has risen at least 30 PSI in all cylinders.

I was told it helps to add it with an oil change right before you take it in for emissions.
