Post subject:  Metal Oxide Semiconducting Field Effect Transistor

Fancy acronym for a solid-state valve or tube. I think all the high-current heads and most amps use MOSFETs

M.O.S.F.E.T. stands for Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor. These transistors allow amplifiers to run more efficiently and cleanly, despite high current and high temperatures. The result is improved overall sound quality, particularly base response. MOSFET's also improve an amp's ability to drive low-impedance speakers.
