Hello hello,

I have been reading through several posts and it doesn't seem like many people have the same colt as I do.

Now I'm looking into doing an engine swap and I'm not really sure on which engine to get....

4g61t or the 4g63t....

It will have to be an auto also.....

What car would be my best choice in picking up?

A talon? a hyundai? year?
Also how any recommendations on what the price and diffuculty would be to do this?

From what I've figured out this swap might be a little harder than the colt that most people have. I figure I need to get custom motor mounts.

I'm located in canada and here is a link to my car.....
www.cardomain.com/id/tilf_hunter

Also I am going to be re-painting the car and doing all the body work - should I do this before or after the engine swap?
If possible I really wanna do the body work so I can at least go to some shows for a laugh. Then get the engine done and start smoking people who like to race me!!!

any help would be apreciated as I am pretty much clueless and not experienced at all in cars...

thank you very much guys
Mark

the colt on the link is not 92 colt its a 85-88 colt. if you want some info on engine swaps for your car just use the search and search under
"c10 swap" and you'll find some good information

Canadians only have one foot.... go go go!
No seriously though, I'm not surprised that not many people have heard about the 92 C10 style car being around. I picked up two of them for spare distributors and stuff and when I ripped them apart, the distributors were oriented differently and the ECU's were an older generation. Kinda like comparing a 386 computer to a pentium 4  boy was I fooled; but it doesn't matter when you get two cars for $350. Just wish the distributor had solved the problem and that it hadn't been my ECU failing all along.
More on topic though, have you thought about what will happen to your insurance when you do this or what the cops already think of your obvious hood ornament before you do the swap. You might want to keep her stealth and fast. Just my 2 cents....

I would love it to be manual - but that's gonna be ALOT of money and time
and since I don't know much about cars and this is my only car......

Oddly though - I had my old pulsar for 3 months (100% stock) and was pulled over 7 times in that period. Now I have had this car since last summer and have not been pulled over ONCE!!

So there'll be no problem with this

4G63 would be nice... Can't beat two litres.
BTW if you can swap an engine, you can change a transmission. It's not hard, as long as you have a good set of tools.

That said... Is that a hood scoop or half a bologna? :o
