altho this may be a repeated question...

can i safely remove my air can and run the stock filter for a while till i get my K&N?

and then...do i need to replace the can on it..or build a heatshield..ive heard interferin with the OEM system causes some real stress with the car's performance...but ah find my exhaust louder dan the engine...

the air can hack never really removes the air can you just cut the air can. please use the search function for more info on"air can hack", it wont cause any interferance with the ecu cause the air comes in befor the maf. you might want to make your own custom snorkle though , itd be really cool if you had it leading to a hood vent and it also get rid of the pesky heat from the engine going into the intake.i would call this mod (without my idea of the cold air snorkle and vent) a very very low hp gain(or loss) cause all the breathability of the intake probly isnt enough to off set the underhood temps. though it would sound pretty mean, my friend sutiban has hacked his can pm him if you want more info on the hack or like i said use the search function.
