i have currently an 91 mirage 4g15
lost fouth gear in the 5 speed and i decide to rebuild the motor and tranny and give the car to my 16 yrold daughter
in tearing down the motor i found the oil control rings are stuck and the crank will need turned so i figure id looking into which option might be cheaper
i want to check into the possibility of swapping in a 4g63nt (she's a new driver) with plans in the future of adding a turbo so what are the donor cars with the 4g63 na in them since i need so much id rather buy a wreck
you know well thanks for the info

Honestly there is a WAY better alternative you get a G4CS Hyundai Sonata 89-92 2.4L All you need is the motor and the ECU and thats it there is no wiring harness needed. Drop in the motor plug in the ECU and thats it the swap can be done in an afternoon...

I'd say, put a 4g63t in, and set it to no boost. That way it's easier to up the power later instead of putting the turbo, intercooler, pistons, etc in.

its a ton of work have to bolt on turbo, intercoolers, injectors theres a ton of work to detune a 4g63t into NA half as much as adding boost to 4g63 NA I think your best choice is still G4CS lots of fun you can boost that motor with a 4g62 manifold...

just leave the wastegate arm unhooked unhooked for no boost... plus with the lower compression you'll get better gas mileage

A 2.4 in the colt would make a perfect sleeper for a first time driver. Lots of torque to surprise small displacement imports(read honda) without having to rev high.
