What's the easiest way to access code's ? After replacing the alternator in summit wagon(4g64), the check engine lite is on.

pockelogger.

actually, get an ebay cable, an ebay palm and the free mmcd software... that all costed me $70 and was the best thing i could have ever bought for my car, well.. cars. Thats how i checked out the error code for my colt, apparently the loggers work on a variety of mitsu cars not just dsms.

thats the easiest way or you can do it like this...

thats taken from the vfaq.com site

Get a little piezo buzzer from an electronics store and attach one end to the check engine pin out (either from the diagnostic port or tap directly into the ecu loom) ground the other end and listen to the beeps. I have one in my glovebox so I can pull codes on the side of the street whenever i get one.

What I did is I aquired a 12v red LED and bent the pins and jammed it in there. I just leave it in there and whenever a code pops up, I just look under the dash and count the blinks. The good thing about it is I can leave it conencted all the time and dont have to worry about it. because it's red, you cant see it while driving, but if I need to look at it, it's very bright, even during the day.

The diag port is next to the fuse box on the driver's side. Look at your clutch pedal from below. Turn you head left. Voila...! Note: the diag port is covered by some black plastic foil. Move it aside to access itha port.
And yes, the codes are the same.
