i have an 89 mits mirage turbo and was wondering if i can put a 1g intercooler in and how much work will it be to do it. i also read sum where i could put the 2.0 exaust manifold on my 4g61t but will that be able to use the larger turbo without alot of modifications. any help would be much appreciated. i would also like to know wut kind of shock/struts u would recommend and lowering springs. i have learned that with a set of wheel spacers u can use 4x100 bolt patern for wheels on these cars.

there is a section on this forum called "information archives", its at the bottom of the forum topic board, there are many different topics covered there, all of which are questions you just asked.

14B/16G on a 4g61

16G on a 4g61

FYI: 14B = 1G DSM Turbo, 16G = same basic housing, bigger wheels.

SMIC installation

You will still need all of those lines. Your lines are not compatible with the larger turbos

There are plenty of FMICs that will fit. It all comes down to how creative you are and more importantly, how fat your wallet is.

I have a FMIC from a GVR4 stuffed infront of my radiator (no A/C). I managed to route the piping inbetween the radiator and the chassis so my intake lines are very short (good for building boost quickly)

There is a VERY good how-to for how to mount a side mount IC in these cars. This may help you some too

http://www.4g61t.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=634

I HIGHLY suggest taking it easy at first. Slap the mods you mentioned on and then go from there. I jumped in the deep end and just did the 4g63t conversion on my 4g15 and I'm still trying to make everything work right.
