Post subject:  Datalogging 95 Wagon

I have a 95 Eagle Summit Wagon, that's throwing a CEL.

Found what looks like a OBD2 port next to the fuses under the dash, and tried using a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle (OBDLink MX) to pull the codes.

Evidently the 95 Wagon isn't OBD2 or my hardware can't figure out which protocol to use.

I've got a set of factory service manuals on the way from E-Bay for the car, just wondering if this is actually OBD1 or something weird Mitsubishi cooked up in preparation for transitioning to OBD2.

95 is a odd year for Mitsubishi, you have what some call a obd1.5. It has both ports for a obd1 and obd2 but the car is in fact obd1, you need to pull codes through the obd1 port. Yup it was a transitional thing getting ready for the mandatory obd2 in the 96 model year.

Thanks Joey. I'll take a look under there again and look for the OBD1 port. Hopefully it's like a 1G DSM, so I can use my old TMO Logger or bust out the LED and wires.
