i just scored a 2g for next to nothing. it is all stock with a fart can, and driving it and uou can distinctly hear the gt25 whistle as it spools, that is one real shortcoming of the mitsubishi turbos, is they are quiet.
im not saying im going to change my setup just so i can sound like a jet engine, but what turbo would sound "proper"
i know my supra engine 7mgte with ct26 sounded awesome with a custom 02 housing i made.

i think i would enjoy my car 50 percent more if it had that sound.
maybe a custom 02 housing would help?

Has to do with the intake.. by a hard piped intake like an injen and a cone filter and change the BOV to like a greddy

20g. im sure its just the nature of them very quiet.

im wondering if i switched to garett/holset/etc would i get a nice annoying sounding turbo.

2g's come stock with a T-25, not a T-28. The reason the non factory turbo's whistle louder also has to do with the blades on the compressor. The more blades, the quieter the turbo. THe 14b and T-25 have a ton of blades, but the 16g and up, plus the T-28 "16g killer" have much fewer (like 6 or 7), this will cause them to be much more noticeable.
