Has anyone removed the glass from their 89-92 CSM to do a paint job lately? Can you still get your hands on window seals ? I want to ensure I can put the glass back in and seal it before I remove anything. It's an 89 Hatch.

Are you doing a color change or just want a pristine job? If no seals are ugly or leaking I'd mask it with fineline tape and call it a day.

I'm not sure if I'll do a color change or not yet. It's really because most of the trim is aged, I am fully gutting the car to paint it anyway and I kinda feel like its cutting corners to leave the glass. I'm not sure I can get my hands on the correct window seals/moldings for this model car. I think I'll probably leave it in due to availability. I just didn't know if anyone has gone through this or if there's a source for parts.

Unless the trim is dinged or a glass is cracked I'd leave it if it were me. And you know how picky I am  . Just buy some satin black trim paint and spray it after you paint the car. Keep the car black and be sure to replicate that turbo decal and put it back on.

I repainted my 92 evo 1 last year. removed every seal on the car. but only seals that were purcased new were the front and rear glass seals. all the other seals were cleaned with lacquer thinner and reused. makes for a very nice paint job.

I appreciate the feedback from you both. I'm worried about damaging the seals if I take them out so I'll probably keep them in and do a good tape job.

BTW Lancerman, do you go by 94AWDcoupe on other sites? If so I've read many of your threads.
