It will be a signal off the ECU to the cluster wiring harness and lastly will route through the flat ribbon cable on the cluster to the bulb.

If you don't have control with the computer, then wiring up a trigger switch to power the bulb when in boost (trigger sensitivity would need to correspond to your boost point) at the appropriate level.

This could tell you if you are boosting too low (turbo spool issue or leakage in the system), or not at all.

We would have to ask someone that knows the clusters a little bit.

NZ guys have some experience with this.

I do not unfortunately know the answer to this at the moment.

I'll have to check around to find that out.

I went here and searched and I am sure there is an answer there, I just didn't see it.

Have you considered just getting a hobbs switch and using that instead? Just set it to the desired boost level and the light in the cluster will come on once you hit that #. I had thought of doing this back when I had my jdm cluster. Seemed to be the easiest route.

A hobbs switch is just a pressure switch. Hook a vacuum line to it and set it to whatever boost you want. Then wire it in to the light in the cluster. Once the desired about of boost is reached, it'll trigger the switch and the light will come on. Just google hobbs switch.
