Well I just bought a 90' colt that has a 4g63 swapped in. Car was originally a 1.5 non turbo car. Question is car has a aftermarket fan not hooked up just a 2 wire fan and was wondering how to wire it into the colt. I pulled up the colt wiring schematic and it shows there was a thermo switch on the factory fan that allowed it to kick on at certain temps. Was curious is someone could lead me in the right direction of how to wire this aftermarket fan properly.
Thanks

Should be able to wire it into the stock wiring so the thermo switch can kick it on.

Yes, the wire from the ECU is hot, and the one going to the temp sensor is GND.

Ok, I tested continuity from the relay terminals to a 4 pin connector by the driverside headlight. Can anyone tell me if this is the right connector the wire colors change but continuity is still the same. Wire colors on schematic also show a different color on one of the wires at the connector. Here is what I've found below to help understand what I looking at

Relay terminals wire colors - connector by headlight

-relay. Connector by headlight
Red/blue- Red/blue
Green/yellow- black
Green/black- Blue/yellow
Green/black- Green/black

Should be on the passenger side. Drivers side would be the AC fan (if it was so equipped)

Well guys I have them wired up and they run all the time. Any ideas on what you guys do and far as getting them to run at a certain temp.
I found the connector by the passenger headlight. I was originally on the a/c fan connector.
The car does not have a factory fan just a aftermarket fan spliced into the harness now.

if you look at this pic.. there are 2 plugs.. does yours fan/wiring have both of these? the black plug goes to near the PS headlight.. the smaller white plug goes to the temp switch that should be at the bottom of the radiator on the PS right next to where the lower hose connects.

cant really find any good pics of the sensor..but if u look here at the bottom (straight down from the upper rad hose) u can see where it plugs into... this tells the fan when to turn on.. it might be bad and thats why they hard wired it in..

Do they run with the key off? It's not that big of a deal if you wire them to key-on power.

Suggestion : before going too far , test your thermo switch.
