I am planning to convert to speed density and trying to figure out the best place is to get a vacuum/boost source for the map sensor. I would like to avoid removing the intake manifold to have it drilled and tapped. I have seen the following sources used.

Fuel pressure regulator
P port on throttle body
Blow off valve
Brake booster

I'm thinking that I should t into the brake booster line near the intake manifold and avoid using the fpr incase there is a leak that causes a lean condition.

I would use the brake booster as well. That's where mine t's off for my megasquirt. The fuel pressure regulator has a solenoid associated with it (if yours is still hooked up) which can bypass it until the car warms up to operating temp for emissions reasons. This could cause some funky results if you're using it as your main vacuum source.

I don't like splitting the source for the FPR either but I don't think the brake booster hose is a great place either due to possible pressure change from using the brakes. With the MAP sensor it is my opinion and practice to have a dedicated port and hose of a size equal to or bigger than the port on the sensor itself. With my previous SD configurations I used the port previously occupied by the PCV valve for the BOV as I was making use of an oil catch can and used the BOV port for the MAP sensor.

I used a 6mm alen head socket and alot of muscle and removed the plug under the TB and screwed in a barbed fitting (with teflon tape on it of course). and that gave me a direct designated port for my map sensor..other than that the fpr is the best hose to tap into for precise pressure. (which is uber important for proper map reading).

That is an excellent idea and location. I really like that and will probably do so with my current build.

I'm currently using 2 ports from the TB tee'd into 1 for my MAP.
