I don't think I ever mentioned that but yes it does have a 6 bolt crank.

I would run that 1.6 head. It looks just fine to me. The casting is not perfect, but none ever are. No sense in spending money again to basically have the same cylinder head with virtually no gains. It will be just fine. The holes on the deck are of no concern either. Less holes 1990 and older(what we look for), more holes are 1991 and newer. Likely was from switching how the oil was cooled. Same thing with the individual mains. It just means it is an older, nonturbo engine. 2.4 mitsubishi 6 bolt engines always had individual main caps.

Run what you have and have fun.

Your really close to me, I work in Denver installing fiber optic cable. It would be cool to see some of the projects you've got going on, I'm sure I could learn a lot from you. I was quite tempted to pick up a red summit I believe that you built.

Thanks for your reassurance, I do plan on running the block and head again just not together. I've got to build a stock motor so that I can have a dd, I'll use this 1.6 head on it simply because it's all ready to go.

one thing to note. The 1.6 head has a smaller combustion chamber of course. 43 cc verses 47 cc. What that means as well, though, is that the intake valves on one side are a bit more shrouded. I doubt it will make a difference for your power goal, but it is something to note.
