Post subject:  new mirage sedan owner

just wanted to introduce my self and wanted to say hi to everyone.
my name is Andrew and i have finally found and just bought my 1990 mirage 4door. I have been searching for a while to find on that was in my price range, white in color, and not to far away from me....

I searched on Craigslist for a while and finally came across one that was about 2 hours away and i decided to go pick it up.
The car is a bone stock 1.5l automatic with 70,000! original miles....
the out side of the car is very clean with only a few small dings in the car, the inside has the typical cracked dash and the ugly blue interior. but for the most part everything is there and in good operating order.

i am looking to do the full 4g63 AWD swap. so i have been going thru quite a few builds to how it is done.
(can anyone suggest any ones in particular that gos pretty in depth?)
i would like to do the swap in section and i was honestly looking to do the rear end first and just not run the diff with the axles in it and still be able to drive it with the 1.5l ... dose anyone know if that can be done without the motor or transfer case bolted up yet? (for measuring/ lining up purposes?)
can any one tell me what size pipe everyone is using to build there rear end setup?
any suggestions would be great.

thanks

PM Lilevo to see if he still sells the AWD swap DVD. It's easily worth the $25-$30 that he asks for them. You will be able to mount the rear end with the 1.5 still in there, no problem. You'll also have to sort your fuel tank at the same time though because the FWD tank is in the way and has to be dropped.

Looks like a clean sedan there, congrats! These cars are getting harder and harder to find, especially the low mileage ones.

That's a pretty nice example of a 3G sedan. Make sure that you are fully committed to the awd swap before you cut it up. It's lots of work and will take time, $, rolling around the floor, and patients. I know. Good luck.

Yea, have been in with DSM's for a while. I used to have a 4g colt fwd and now I kinda want to step up my game and go awd, I have a buddy that has a shop with a lift so I don't have to roll around on the ground. I already have a awd talon shell but I don't want to tear the rear end out of it because it is just to clean of a car but I may change my mind soon....
