Hi have two newbie questions about oil cooler:

1) for a 4g63t Can i install the oil cooler direct on the oil pump? I mean without that piece on the pic where the oil filter is located?

2) Whith the oil cooler can i lower the oil pressure?

if the motor is a 90 4g63 it should have the correct oil filter housing... the 91 and up use water from the engine to cool the oil.

and no you cannot control the pressure with a cooler.

Thanks, Steve, i know i can´t control pressure with a cooler, but can i spect the psi of oil go a little down with the instalation of the oil cooler?

good question.. I would think it would stay the same..maybe drop 1-2 psi at most.. as all you are doing is adding more space ( lines and cooler) which means you need to add a lil more oil @ each oil change.. ( which you should unhook 1 line and let the cooler drain when u do a oil change).

No pressure loss (or very small loss) but you need more fluid for feeding the exchanger.

The best way for a good proper installation is :

With his setup you dont need to flush the exchanger on each oil motor drain.
And no air bubble stuck inside the exchanger.
Also best coolant efficiency ...
