Ok, i been searching and reading over old posts and archives and i cannot find what could be wrong with my tach, first of all my Colt its a 1991 (never came with tach from factory), now its 4g63 swaped, donor car was a 90' DSM so coils are 90' with the tach filter as well. Now i got a 1989 Mitsubishi Mirage turbo tach cluster, from what i been reading this tach cluster should work a soonest you install it because my donor wiring arness was a 90, well all the gauges works except tach and there is no sense running a wire from the tach filter to the inside of the car because its already on the 4 wire plug of the coil, what would you suggest to check or do? thanks |

Have you tried this? http://www.lilevo.com/turbo/tach/body_tach.html At least to test to verify the cluster is good? I think it could be 1 of 3 things, cluster, tach adapter, or wiring. Just narrow them down, and eleminate possible causes. |

Thanks for the reply installer88, i did this today and the tach its working now but is not accurate, do you know what could cause this? about the fix right now im a little confused because this fix should apply just for a 4g63 swaps with 91-94 wiring isn't? |

I would still run a separate wire. I know its already on the 4 wire plug but that wire splits off and is hooked to other wires in the harness. |

thats what i did, i just ran a straight wire from the white wire on the tach filter to the white wire that goes on C-19 plug, the question its why the rpms are not accurate?
