found a 91 gallant gsx at the junk yard and was wondering if any parts would/could swap over to my 1990 Mitsubishi mirage. Im most interested in the brakes first and foremost.the transmission is an auto 4 spd. awd. Is the transmission a viable option for a swap? Can the brakes be used? If not, does anyone need any of the parts off this car? Located in Spokane WA.

Brakes are the same as what is found on the GVR4, transmission should be comparable to an auto AWD 1g. You can absolutely use both items on your Mirage.

What color is the interior/exterior?

the transmission on the Galant GSX will work on a 4g63, but i think should be a little bit different on gear ratio than the turbo one..

nice! the exterior is dark blue and the interior was tan I think. Looks like I'm going back today! as far as fitment goes, would the brakes need a bigger tire? this is for my 4g15 mirage, and there will be no major issues with installation?

If they are the twin-pot brakes, you will need the entire Knuckle from the Galant (you will have to have the knuckle/tie rod pint machined to avoid by=ump steer) or you will need Expo knuckles. Then you would also need Camber plates for either choice, and an alignment. Also, the rear brakes will require a new proportioning valve and a kit to install/replace your rear drum brakes.

Since the GSX is a non-turbo AWD, the tranny (W4A32) won't do you any good in a FWD car. Are you planning on going AWD?

There is a ton more work than just installing the parts.

The Galant GSX has a 4g63 in it. Yes the final drive ratios are different from the FWD to AWD cars.

They aren't.

The trans would work but you would need to weld the center diff

If opportunity struck and I woke up knowing how to weld, then yes!

Does that mean I can still use them, I just wont need the knuckles?

The brakes are smaller than GVR4, and the ratio in the trans is unique to GGSX so if you're gonna go awd with those parts then get the rear diff. They have lower gears and a taller final drive compared to DSM/GVR4
