Due to the slightly shorter deck height of the 61, the 63 water pumps actually don't have the same bolt pattern. I just went through this with mine. BNIB 63 pump wouldn't fit at all. I compared the two gaskets and there's a definite difference.

I've also been through this with 61t vs 63t. Also I now have a 1G 7 bolt block in my 97 talon and the water pump from the 1G vs 2G is also different. I now need to source one for the colt for the Hyundai 2.4 block, im not sure if that one is same as any others.

As far as we know, yes the 4g61 was only in a FWD setup/AWD setup, not setup inline for RWD like the trucks and early car models would have been.

after looking at 4g61 bits on ebay, i found this water pump
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1982-1994-Ch ... 3f208844d8

says its for a 3g37 and a g32b and g32bt and a 4g61

so if the one pump fits them, im thinkin that a galant water pump may bolt up to it
