I just recently bought a 92 dodge colt. One owner with 68,000 original miles. No power accessories what so ever. Automatic 1.5. I am looking for aftermarket parts to build. Front and rear bumpers, lowering springs, and turbo kit. I am wanting to boost what I have. Other than turbo kit, keep it as stock as possible. Any positive pointers would be great!

So you want to rice it out and turbo the automatic 1.5? Unless you want to be the laughing stalk of your town, I would avoid that route. There's plenty of information here on swapping a 4g63t into base models, you could stay automatic if you wanted with a little more work even. But trust me, 4g15 isn't the way you want to go.

There are no 1.5 turbo kits, and every aftermarket body kit is hideous and lame.

Your way will require custom everything, and if you don't do it right, be prepared for a lot of criticism.

I am namely looking for a cyborg front and rear bumper. Or at the least find a pair of lancer bumpers that are closer to the ground. Side skirts are the simplest to modify from just about anything. And eBay has several kits to choose from. Maybe not the highest of quality, but would suffice in this case for sure, lol.

There is no point in turboing the 1.5. Every once in awhile we get a guy that wants to turbo it and it takes everyone on the site to talk him out of it. There's no easy way to do it, every thing is custom and then once the fabrication is all done, you'll have to figure out a way to control it all because there's no way to custom map a 1.5 ecu.

I vote just swap it. Even if you do go through with it you are going to want more and end up doing the swap anyways, it will earn you much more respect all around. And not everyone has done swaps in these, I have never seen another swapped CSM except for one.. at one car meet.. a while back and hes on here. If you don't want to swap just hold out for an original turbo model, at least they have a front lip, side skirts and a spoiler

I agree with everyone else, its easier and cheaper to 4g swap it. Most of the time it can be better just to keep it simple. Just add nice factory body panels, they might not stick out as much but for the people in the know will notice.

different would be swaping your Colt with a 4g93 DOHC or something more difficult to see, but by now you are just trying to see by yourself if the oem 4g15 has some potential, believe everyone here, its not worth, but if it is what you want go for it!

There are Colts/Mirages with 4g93 motors and this generation body style too, not just CA0's. Factory equipped.
