Ordered this tach with out even thinking, will it work with a swapped 4g colt?

It might if you know the tach signal and if the tach has a 4/6/8 switch on the back.

It says that I may need a adapter for coil style cars, I have it switched to four. Can't find out for a while because I am mid 4g swap.
